- Use + Assign app to install the app on devices configured by a specific device preset. See Managing Your Device Fleet below to create a Device preset.
Â
Managing Your Device Fleet
- Go to the Devices section and select Device presets to create a new profile. Each profile allows you to set device configurations and specify which apps should be installed on devices assigned to that profile.
-
When creating a new device preset, you can chose between two Preset Types:
- Individual Mode: Require a device to have a dedicated owner who logs in using their business Meta account. You can create business Meta accounts in the People tab.
- Shared Mode: Devices in Shared Mode can be used by multiple users without requiring user-specific Meta account logins. This makes it ideal for training or demonstration purposes.
-
After creating the profile, configure the device using the provided options:
- Details: Configure general device permissions.
- Apps: Specify which apps will be installed on devices linked to the profile.
- Networks: Define WiFi networks that devices automatically connect to.
- Certificates: Install certificates to establish a secure connection between your organization's network and devices with this device preset.
- Security: Configure the device security settings.
-
Device experience (Shared Mode Only): Configure the user experience when using shared mode.
Optional: Create Device groups to organizing your devices and trigger bulk actions like wiping and releasing all devices within the group instead of managing individual devices.

Enrolling Devices
- Factory reset the device in case it is already registered with a Meta account.
- Proceed with the initial set up until a device code is displayed. Click the button Connect to your organization and note down the 8 digit device code.
- Head over to the Devices tab on https://work.meta.com/ and click Enroll devices.
- Select the desired device preset and enter the 8 digit device code.
- Individual Mode: You’ll be prompted to choose between setting it up for yourself or someone else. Selecting yourself links the headset to the Meta account currently logged in at work.meta.com. Selecting someone else prepares the headset for handover, allowing the individual to sign in with their business Meta account. Head over to the People tab to create and manage individual Meta accounts.
- Shared Mode:Â The setup is complete and the headset will apply the configurations from the device preset and restart.
