Why is the Oasis Driver Needed?
Microsoft has ended support for Windows Mixed Reality, which the HP Reverb G2 originally depended on. The Oasis Driver replaces that missing piece so your headset and controllers still work on modern Windows systems.
Step-by-Step Setup Instructions
Assumptions
The HP Reverb G2 headset is already plugged in (USB + DisplayPort).
Your PC supports Bluetooth (or you have a Bluetooth dongle).
1. Install Steam and SteamVR
2. Install the Oasis Driver
In Steam, search for “Oasis Driver for Windows Mixed Reality.”
Click Install.
3. Pair the Motion Controllers
Open Windows Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Add device → Bluetooth.
Put each controller into pairing mode (press the small button inside the battery compartment until the LED pulses).
Select the controller in Windows to pair it.
Repeat for the second controller.
4. Run the Oasis Unlock Tool (one-time, or after re-pairing controllers)
Close SteamVR if it’s open.
In your Steam Library, launch “Oasis Driver for Windows Mixed Reality.”
Choose “Unlock your headset & controllers for Oasis” and click Play.
-
Follow the prompts:
Unplug the headset’s USB cable and plug it back in (leave DisplayPort connected).
Power off/on the controllers when asked.
Once the tool says Done, close it.
5. Launch SteamVR
From Steam, start SteamVR.
You should now see the SteamVR environment inside your headset, with both controllers active.
Launch realworld one
Take off the headset to start realworld one on your PC from your Desktop or the start menu. If you can't find the app on your PC, contact your IT department or install the application: https://download.realworld-one.com/
Sign into your realworld one account by entering your email address.
You can now start any installed experience from the Home or the Community tab.
On the Home tab, you can use Spotlights, Activity, or Recent to quickly join sessions or access featured and recently used content.
If it is your first time using realworld one, we recommend starting with the First Steps tutorial before diving into any other experience.
It will help you get familiar with movement, controls, and interaction in VR.
Additional Features
Go to Settings to adjust your language and other profile preferences. If the XR experience supports your selected language, it will automatically use the one set in your profile.
In Contacts, you can join sessions hosted by other users and connect with users from different companies.
To invite other users when creating a session, click on the experience card to get to the session page instead of clicking directly on Enter VR.
Click on the notification icon in the top right corner to accept invites from other users.
In Files, you can upload 3D & CAD Models, images, videos and PDFs for use in XR. Look at your Hand Menu to open the Hand Menu. Switch to the Utilities / Collaboration tab in the lower bar and select Files to open a File.
